At Paramount Homes, we usually build homes on “bare” land that hasn’t been built on before. Sometimes, though, a client will buy land with an old or dilapidated home that is beyond repair.
In those cases, it’s more cost-effective just to demolish the existing home and start over from scratch, especially if the value of the house on the land isn’t commensurate with the value of the land itself. Sometimes, this happens with very old homes that aren’t up to the current building code or when they’re very small in comparison with the land.
This “scrape and build” job is one of those uncommon cases where our clients bought land with a home on it that wasn’t up to snuff, so they decided to have the existing home demolished, and then we’ll build them a new home. There will be a night-and-day difference between the original house and what we’re building.
