We recently handed over the keys to some clients for a new home we built in Flying Horse North. As part of the process, Kim, our Office Ninja, asked a few questions about the building process, and what they thought about working with Paramount Homes. Below, you can read what they said. (Our goal is to ensure that our clients have a good report when the building process is finished, and it looks like we succeeded here)!

Q: How did you first hear about Paramount Homes?

A: Chris Swayne (from Rowan Electric) recommended Paramount Homes to us.

Q: Did you have the chance to see some of Paramount’s work prior to building with them?

A: We checked out Paramount’s projects posted on their website.

Q: How did you like having Mike Rice as your builder?

A: Mike’s passion for creating our dream house is what drew us to Paramount. He communicated very well throughout the entire process.

Q: How did you like having Jodi Swiech as your designer?

A: Jodi understood what our vision was for our home and did everything in her power to follow that vision. She had great suggestions and helped us stay on budget but made sure we were able to stay true to what we really wanted.

Q: What is the best part of your new home?

A: Everything! It’s exactly what we wanted. Our location and views are amazing, and our mountain rustic home fits perfectly in the development.

Q: Were there any bumps in the building process? If so, how were they handled?

A: Absolutely. But Mike and the team handled them very well. The national increase in tariffs caused us to go over budget, but Mike and the vendors explained that to us beforehand, so we were prepared to go over. Weather was also a major factor in it taking a little longer than planned. As far as design, Jodi helped us upgrade at times, so we got exactly what we wanted but also cut where needed in order to stay close enough to our budget.

Q: In almost every building project, there is something about the house that the homeowners weren’t planning, but they like it enough to include it in the finished home. Did you have something like that with your home?

A: Yes. We decided late in the build to do a wine niche because we love wine. Jodi helped us pick out some reclaimed wood and racks to make this a really cool feature in our great room. We opted to do some built-in bookshelves in our library, and they turned out beautifully. We picked out some brick to go on an accent wall in our Chicago sports room, and that detail also came out perfect. Our stand-alone tub and custom shower with rock flooring makes our master bath stand out. We also love our floor to ceiling rock fireplace and rock feature above our stove!
