Groundbreaking in Colorado Springs near Kissing Camels Golf Course

We’re happy to announce that we just did something we don’t do very often: we broke ground on a new home right in the middle of Colorado Springs. We say we don’t do that very often because, believe it or not, the area within Colorado Springs city limits is almost completely built out. There are very few lots left for people to build new custom homes on.

Sometimes, as in this case, the lot we’re building on is inside a neighborhood that was built many decades ago, but there is one remaining lot still available in between all the other homes. In this case, the lot was just sitting there, with a “for sale” sign on it for a very long time. Building on these “infill lots” can be a challenge since there serious constraints when it comes to trucking dirt out of the area, storing building materials, trying not to disturb the neighbors by making too much noise, etc. We have definitely built our fair share of homes on infill lots, and that’s becoming more and more the only option for people wanting to build in a community like Colorado Springs that’s almost completely developed.

For our clients, the lot they found was in the perfect location, and had the perfect size for the home we designed to fit the small space. We’re happy to be building in Colorado Springs, and the area where it’s located is absolutely beautiful, right next to the Kissing Camels Golf Course on Garden of the Gods Road.

As part of our groundbreaking ceremony, we had the clients shovel some dirt and throw it high in celebration before the excavators began the real digging. So congrats to our new clients, and we can’t wait to share the photos of what will be a beautiful home in the Kissing Camels area in Colorado Springs!
